Thanksgiving

We came home from the hospital the day before Thanksgiving so it was very nice to not have to travel this year. Thanksgiving was with the Wilson Family this so Andrew and I offered to host as we knew it would be difficult to go anywhere with a newborn. Luckily everyone chipped in on the cooking so it wasn't a lot of work.

Claire Elaine Wilson

Meet Claire Elaine Wilson. She was born on November 24th at 5:42pm. She weighted 7 lbs 3 oz and was 19.5 inches long. She has beautiful big blue eyes, warm skin and dirty blond hair.

Since Claire was 8 days late, we decided to move forward with being induced. It was such a different experience than my first labor. We arrived at the hospital early in the morning, excited to get checked in and get things going. Little did I know it would take 12 hours for us to meet baby Claire.

 We had a few hiccups along the way. One being Claire's heart rate dropping as labor progressed more quickly than either of us could handle, so we had to take a brief hiatus during labor.  Also, at the time of deliver, we learned that she was sunny side up. Luckily my doctor was able to turn Claire around right before delivering her. It was a long day filled with many emotions and a happy ending! I'm so lucky to have an amazing husband who held my hand through the entire day and a talented doctor who was able to provide me hope and confidence that we'd get through each complication we faced.
